If you’ve updated to VirtualBox version 3.0 you might have come across a problem that I did – freezing in the guest OS.
This has happened for me most notably when installing Debian and Ubuntu.
Changing the network device from NAT to Bridged has solved all my woes. I don’t know why it wasn’t on bridged in the first place!
